7. Notre Dame Cathedral
(Han Thuyen; Sunday mass at 9:30am)
Built between 1877 and 1883, this red-brick, neo-romanesque church is
adorned with two 40-m high towers with iron spires at the tips.

Mariamman Hindu Temple (45 D Truongh Dinh
7am-7pm)
Built at the end of the 19th century, this temple dedicated to the Hindu
Goddess of Mariamman is also considered sacred by many ethnic Vietnamese
and Chinese.

9. Saigon Central Mosque
(66 D Dong Du’I 9am-5pm)
Located in the middle of central Saigon, the mosque is a place of calm
and serenity in the midst of a busy city. In front of the mosque is a
pool for ritual ablutions before prayers. Visitors must take off their
shoes before entering.
Museums

1. War Remnants
Museum (28 D Vo Van Tan 7:30-11:45am; 1:30-5:15pm Tue-Sun)
Features an exhibit of retired artillery pieces and a model of tiger
cages used to house viet cong prisoners. There are also photo exhibits
of torture and of babies with birth defects caused by the USA’s use of
defoliants.

2. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City
Built in 1886, the museum displays artifacts from the different periods
of communist tension and the struggle for power in Vietnam.

History Museum
Housed in a beautiful Sino-French building built in 1929, the History
Museum has an exhibition of artifacts from over 3300 years of Vietnam’s
history.

Fine Arts Museum
Displays art from Vietnam’s earliest civilizations, The OC-EO and Cham
to more contemporary art.
5. Reunification Palace
Originally built to serve as South Vietnam’s presidential palace in
1966, it became the focal point of the first attack of communist tanks
in Saigon in 1975 the day Saigon surrendered. The building has been left
just as it looked on that momentous day.
