Opened in July 12, 1989, Lotte World is listed as the world's largest
indoor theme park by the Guinness Book of World Records. It receives
about 8 million visitors each year. Located near the park is Seok-Chone
lake, whose scenic beauty is enjoyed by visitors.
Lotte World, houses an indoor theme park, lake side park, shopping mall,
folk museum, swimming pool, ice rink, sports center, hotel and
department store. In the folk museum, you can get an overall glimpse of
the 5,000-year-long Korean history through various miniature and
life-size models.
The
Lotte World complex is largely divided into two parks, Lotte World
Adventure and Magic Island. Lotte World Adventure is the largest indoor
amusement park in the world. Being inside of the dome, so you don't have
to worry about bad weather. It entertains visitors with up-to-date
thrilling rides and multiple events. Its four floors are furnished with
many rides such as Roller Coaster, Aeronauts Balloon, Puppet Theater,
and so on. Jungle Adventure, the French Revolution, and Flume Ride will
suit those who want fast and breath-taking rides.
Magic
Island looks like a castle which has just popped out from a beautiful
fairly tale. Its dancing water fountain, high-tech rides, greenery, and
outdoor amphitheater are harmonized along the superb esplanade of
Seokchon Lake. Most newlyweds choose Magic Island to pose for their
wedding photos. The Gyro Drop, the Park’s most popular ride which is
gives an experience similar to bungee jumping, and the Comet Express
provide goose-bumping thrills of speed and height. A favorite among
young couples is the Lord Nelson's Armada ride, which gives romantic
afternoon rides around the lake. The Dancing Fountain seen from a
waterfront cafe is another famous spot at night on Magic Island.
The Lotte Folk Museum provides a unique opportunity to experience Korean
culture and history. The traditional lifestyle is revived through
state-of-the-art visual devices, dioramas, and models. It also exhibits
replicas of folklore articles and precious cultural assets, while
offering regular traditional dance and music performances. Visitors can
vividly experience Korea's five thousand years of history.

Lotte World also provides a variety of sports and cultural activities
year round from skating on the indoor ice rink, swimming in a pool which
boasts palm trees and many water slides, and enjoying bowling alleys, a
fitness center, a gallery, and a movie multiplex.
